The following is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about our Createaccounts.com™ Protected Site System
  • What can I use the Createaccounts.com Protected Site System for?
    Createaccounts.com allows you to create and manage a site with password protected pages that can be integrated into your existing website or used alone. It allows you to protect your site and allow authorized users to access the protected web pages. Those without a valid User Name and Password will be denied access to your protected pages. Also, you can control who can access the pages.
  • Who should use the Createaccounts.com Protected Site System?
    Any organization, club, business or individual who wants to put restricted-access information on-line would find our system useful. For instance, if your company publishes employee work schedule information on-line but you don't want the general public to see your employee work information, you can easily use our system to post work schedules and let employees view them while keeping out the general public. Or if you are a school teacher and you want to post grade information listings, you can use our system. There are numerous other situations where this system may be useful.
  • How does it work?
    Basically there are five steps:
    A. You register. You register for our service.
    B. You Upload your .html pages (content pages). Using our simple interface, you upload the pages you want protected.
    C. Tell your members to Sign-up. You can tell your users to signup at your Sign-up Page URL (which we automatically create for you)...better yet if you have a web-site you can have a link from it to the Sign-up Page URL.
    D. You Accept or Reject new Sign-ups When your visitors complete the on-line Sign-up Form, the information they input is stored for you. You review the entered information for each user and accept or reject their request to access your protected pages. (Actually you could also tell us beforehand who you will accept and for those users they will automatically be Accepted).
    E. Users Login. Accepted users are automatically e-mailed the Login Page URL (again we automatically create this page for you) where they can login.. If you have a web-site you can have a link from it to the Login Page URL to make it easier for your users. From then on they only need to access the Login Page URL to access your protected pages.
  • What do I need to use the Protected Site System?
    Obviously you need to have your own .html pages which you want to protect. We do not offer any tools to help you create your .html pages so you'll have to create them using your own editor. As well, they must be plain .html pages since we do not accept any other file formats. For our free accounts, there is a 25 page limit and each file cannot be larger than 50 kilobytes.
  • Do I have to install software?
    No, just compete the information in our simple interface and you're set.
  • Can I use the service if I don't have my own web-site?
    Yes. Since you will be provided with your own customized Sign-up Page URL and Login Page URL where your users login, just tell your members to go to those URL's.
  • Can I use the service to safeguard credit card or other very sensitive information?
    Our system is not designed to safeguard credit card or other very sensitive information. If you use our free services, you cannot use it to for these purposes.
  • How much does it cost?
    It's free (see our mission statement to understand why). In the future, we will be offering premium services for which there may a be a charge.
